The Turkish Statistical Institute announced the Agricultural PPI data for March.
The Agricultural Products Producer Price Index (Agriculture-PPI) increased in March 2019 by 1.75% compared to the previous month, 13.20% compared to December of the previous year, 27.33% compared to the same month of the previous year, and 16.04% according to the twelve-month averages.
Compared to the previous month, changes were as follows: an increase of 1.88% in agricultural and hunting products, 5.19% in forestry products, while fisheries decreased by 4.71%.
The highest monthly increase was in perennial crops
Among the main groups, compared to the previous month: perennial crops increased by 6.62%, annual crops increased by 1.62%, while live animals and animal products decreased by 0.63%.
Vegetables increased by 3.31% compared to the previous month
Among the sub-agricultural groups: citrus fruits increased by 7.96%, paddy rice by 3.46%, sheep and goats (live), their raw milk and fleece by 0.62%, while oil fruits increased by 0.33%. On the other hand, live poultry and eggs decreased by 3.28%, and fibrous plants decreased by 5.01%.
In March 2019, among the 81 items covered in the index: prices of 48 items increased, 27 items decreased, and 6 items remained unchanged.
